Room for Baby

Since this pregnancy started we've been making room for baby.  I've been making room in my body...even more so lately.  We've made room in our schedule taking every opportunity to daydream about her, go to appointments for her, shop for her necessities (and non-necessities), debate names (still undecided), and learn what we can about caring for her (still in the dark).  In its literal sense we've been making a space for her in our home, though I'm expecting that the entire home will become her space.
Shawn, the builder.
I've done my last pre-baby load of laundry and cleaned every surface of everything that could be wiped down.  Loki quickly rolled all over or licked most of it after I was through.  Figures!  What's with boiling nipples and pacifiers anyway?!?  Can't you just disinfect in mommy's and daddy's mouths?
We have many loving people that helped with the items that populate the baby's room.
I've read the last "serious" baby book and moved onto to satire that my loving Aunt Mickey sent to me for my birthday.  Seriously, pick up a copy of "I Just Want to Pee Alone."  You will end up peeing your pants if pregnant...but it's worth the extra undie changes!

Everything that takes batteries has had batteries installed.  Who knew that C size batteries were the most popular!  Thank goodness for Costco!  As a side-note we've also solved the mystery of why the swing won't work without a baby in it...thankfully we substituted an estimated baby weight with storybooks and found, prior to packing it back up and reducing it to broken, that it won't swing unless there's a baby (or bedtime stories) riding inside.

Peek-a-boo Bear
And we've installed the car seats.  Coincidentally it's car seat safety week so we've planned an exciting trip to Kohls this weekend where the State Police will be checking that we know how to follow directions!  How hard could it be?!?

Baby's first teddy bear!
I've finally posed for another belly pic.  I only have a few...22 weeks...26 weeks, and 37 weeks (today).  Thirty-five pounds later and I'm grateful for the walks that Loki must go on because it drags my numb legs around the neighborhood regularly!  Did I really eat all of that food along the way?  Yes.  Shamelessly!  Yum!

37 weeks and still going strong!

I love being pregnant.   I love feeling her moving around.  I just can't wait to meet her!

Its been a long road!

Showered with Love

We were generously given two baby showers to celebrate the upcoming birth of our daughter.  We are so humbled by the generosity of our family and friends.  We are overwhelmed with love AND gifts.  This little lady has everything she needs and more.  She (and her parents) are very appreciative everything we have received!

Our daughter has one great library started!  Among the classics were many Dr. Suess books, a Golden Book, 2 Shel Silversteins, lotsa Disney, and many new favorites!

I want one.  My seats are usually very boring.

My mama (new gramma) and sister (new auntie)

My mama-in-law, sister-in-law, and niece!  Veteran gramma, aunt, and cousin!)

Troublemakers from Riddle!
Closing out the night with the Pitt gals!

Moving...again...

I looked back at this old blog and discovered that entered a post on 07/07/2011.  Well, there it was, 3 years and one month (08/07/2014) and we were moving again.  The feeling was/is bittersweet...bitter for what we leave behind, sweet for what we gain.  The move was tiresome, and I'm still not sure where everything is.

What a sad sight...to see the moving trucks.

I packed the Jeep, walked inside, and couldn't find the dog.  He sneaked behind me and jumped into the back.  He was worried we would leave him behind.  :(

My favorite team!
